SUPPLY, USE AND INPUT-OUTPUT TABLES SEMINAR
27 July 2016

In May the National Statistics Office published the Supply, Use and Input-Output tables, a framework which helps to determine how labour, capital and intermediate inputs are converted into output.  The office held a seminar on Wednesday 27 July with the aim of providing insight into this elaborate tool, which comprises a set of tables highlighting the various inter-linkages across 128 product groups and 84 industry groups.  The seminar focused on the process carried out by NSO in compiling these tables and the foundations of and extensions to the input-output tables.  The latter gives a new means to economic analysts to assess the effects of changes in a whole raft of variables and the impact that such changes will have across industries and product groups.
