​... passenger traffic at the MIA increased by 17.5% compared to 2016.
... UK and Italy remain the two most popular destinations in terms of total passengers movement, registering increases over 2016 by 8.9% and 14.9% respectively.​

Sea Transport

In 2017 ...

... the stock of vessels registered under the Maltese flag increased by 4.8%.
... 49.3% (138) of the total newly registered vessels were dry cargo vessels.
​​... (cruise liners) embarkations from Malta and landings in Malta increased by 91.2% and 78.2%
respectively over 2016.
... increases of 5.8% and 4.9% were registered in the number of vehicles and passengers respectively
that crossed between Malta and Gozo.​

Road Transport

... ​​the number of reported traffi c accidents decreased negligibly by 0.1% over 2016, with 37.7% of these accidents recorded in the Northern Harbour.

... the stock of licensed motor vehicles increased at an average net rate of 36 vehicles per day.
